England opener Ben Duckett has made a few massive comments on the Indian team and especially on their lead pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.
Both Bumrah and Shami have been injury-prone in recent times. While Shami missed the Australia Test series with a knee injury, Bumrah injured his back by the end of the series and missed the Champions Trophy.
Bumrah and Shami both having injury concerns is the biggest worry for the Indian team ahead of their next big Test series against England. While Gautam Gambhir as coach has done very well in white-ball cricket, his CV for Test cricket is not that great.

Back to back losses to New Zealand and Australia has dampened his stats as a coach in Tests. Now Ben Duckett, the England opener is already playing mind games against the Indian team ahead of the start of the Test series. The five-match Test series starts from June 20 and kicks off India's WTC 2027 campaign. The Men In Blue have made the WTC 2019 and 2021 and 2023 finals. Ahead of the five-match series, slated to be held in June, England opener Ben Duckett backed his side to add to India's woes, saying they "should" win the contest.
"India at home is very different to India away. It's a side I feel we should beat and we can beat. It'll be a good series," he said.

He further went onto make a massive comment about Jasprit Bumrah saying that he does not surprise him as a bowler. Bumrah is currently the number-one ranked bowler in Test cricket and took 32 wickets in his last Test series against Australia. He also said that he is comfortable facing Mohammed Shami as well.
"I've faced him in a five-Test series before. I know what he's going to do to me, and the good thing about that is I know what skills he has. There's going to be nothing that surprises me. It's going to be challenging, and the red-ball skills of Mohammed Shami are just as threatening as Bumrah. But if I can get through that opening spell, I feel there are runs to be had" said Duckett.
England lost to India 4-1 the last time they toured India in 2025. The Men In Blue led by Virat Kohli led the Test series 2-1 in 2021. However, England managed to win the rescheduled Manchester Test and level the series 2-2.
