Australia Masters defeated South Africa Masters by 137 runs in the 11th match of the International Masters League T20 2025 scheduled at the Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara.
Chasing a massive 261-run target, South Africa Masters faced a steep climb in their second innings. From the outset, the pressure was palpable and early wickets began to tumble, immediately placing the South African batting line-up under immense strain.Â
Captain Jacques Kallis injured himself in the first innings and did not come out to bat. Hashim Amla top-scored with a 19-ball 30 but his cameo was never going to help South Africa’s chances of successfully chasing this mountain of a total.
Richard Levi and Alviro Petersen were the other notable contributors, scoring 22 and 28 runs respectively. With wickets falling like ninepins, South Africa failed to challenge the Aussies, eventually getting bundled at a score of 123 in 17 overs.
For Australia, Ben Laughlin had a great outing with the ball as he bagged three wickets, giving away just 18 runs in his four overs. Xavier Doherty and Bryce McGain took two wickets each.

Shane Watson’s Hundred sets up decisive win
Earlier in the match, Shane Watson and Callum Ferguson's blitzkrieg powered Australia to a total of 260 runs. Watson, in particular, was the star with the bat. He smashed his third hundred of the season. Ferguson played an 85-run knock. The duo formed an 186-run opening stand, giving the Australian innings the impetus it needed.
This is Australia’s second win on the trot. They move to third position on the points table. On the other hand, South Africa are reeling at the fifth spot.
