India’s First T20I Series in Bangladesh: Full 2025 Tour Schedule Out - Check Details!

India will visit Bangladesh for a six-match white-ball tour in August, featuring three ODIs and as many T20Is, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on April 15, Tuesday.

This marks India’s first-ever bilateral T20I series in Bangladesh and their first white-ball only visit since 2014, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash as both teams fine-tune for the T20 Asia Cup in September. 

The tour kicks off with two ODIs at Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium on August 17 and 20, followed by a third ODI in Chattogram at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Cricket Stadium on August 23. The T20I leg starts in Chattogram on August 26, with the teams going back to Dhaka for the final two T20Is scheduled on August 29 and 31 respectively, 

"This series promises to be one of the most exciting and most anticipated events in our home calendar," BCB’s chief executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

"India have set the benchmark in international cricket across all formats and the cricket-loving millions in both countries are sure to enjoy this contest. Bangladesh and India have played some very competitive matches in recent years, and I am confident that this will be another hard-fought and entertaining series," he added.

India, fresh off a packed schedule including the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) and a tour of England, will see this as crucial preparation for the T20 Asia Cup, which they will host later in 2025. The Test series against England will end on August 4 and as the Indian players are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on August 13, it makes their schedule more hectic.

Notably, India’s last white-ball only tour to Bangladesh in 2014 saw them play three ODIs in June. They won that series 2-0. In their latest 2022 visit, Bangladesh won the ODI series 2-1, while the Test series went in India’s favour.
