Former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik recently picked India’s combined XI from the 2007 and 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squads during an interaction with Cricbuzz.

Karthik chose Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir as openers over Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, highlighting their consistency at the top of the order and favoring the 2007 champions.

At No. 3, he went with Suryakumar Yadav over Robin Uthappa, citing SKY’s two half-centuries and his spectacular catch in the final as key reasons for the pick.

At No. 4, he chose veteran all-rounder Yuvraj Singh ahead of Shivam Dube, pointing to Yuvraj’s Player of the Tournament performance in 2007 — and, of course, his iconic six sixes in an over against Stuart Broad.
