RCB vs KKR: Match Preview

Match 59 between RCB and KKR will mark the return of Phase 2 of IPL 2025, following its suspension due to the India-Pakistan military conflict. The tournament now resumes with limited venues, and this crucial encounter will be held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

RCB and KKR previously faced each other in the opening match of the season, where RCB comfortably defeated the defending champions to kickstart their campaign with a win. Currently, RCB sit in second place with 16 points and three matches remaining, making them strong contenders for a top-two finish. On the other hand, KKR have played 12 matches and are on 11 points, leaving them with only an outside chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

Heading into this match, RCB are in red-hot form, having won four consecutive games, including a much-needed home victory at the Chinnaswamy — a venue where they had struggled earlier this season. In contrast, KKR have won just two of their last five games and must win this match to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Historically, KKR have had the upper hand against RCB, winning 8 out of their 12 encounters. Notably, RCB have not beaten KKR at the Chinnaswamy Stadium since 2015, giving KKR a psychological edge going into this fixture.

Team-wise, RCB will be without star pacer Josh Hazlewood, who has yet to join the squad. Additionally, Phil Salt is sidelined with an injury, and Devdutt Padikkal has been ruled out. However, RCB have capable reinforcements and will aim for another comfortable win.

KKR, meanwhile, have lost the services of Moeen Ali — one of their key bowlers this season. The availability of Venkatesh Iyer remains uncertain, but KKR are expected to field a competitive side to challenge RCB.

With rain looming over the fixture, according to weather updates, fans should stay tuned for live coverage and match highlights of RCB vs KKR – Match 59 of IPL 2025.
