New Look Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings has become a team to watch this mid-season due to their consistent performance under captain Shreyas Iyer and head coach Ricky Ponting. They are achieving results that previous Punjab teams struggled to deliver.

In the top order, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh have been excellent; if one fails, the other steps up. With Shreyas Iyer following next in the batting order, their main concern lies in the middle order. Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell have not been performing up to expectations when the top order falters.

Although Jos Inglis has had a rough start to the tournament, Ricky Ponting will likely continue to back him, allowing him more opportunities to prove himself. Nehal Wadhera, who has been utilized as a floater this season, has shown inconsistency, especially on surfaces that support bowlers, making it difficult for him to build an innings.
