Cricket has slowly started to reach the global masses. After football, cricket is now the second most popular sport in Europe. However, Manchester United ace midfielder Kevin De Bruyne begs to differ. He claimed that the stats are a lie and no one he knows watches cricket in Europe.
The interaction took place in the 'AI Showdown' show with Kevin De Bruyne and James McAtee. During the show, it was revealed by the AI list that cricket is the second-most popular sport in Europe.

According to the list, football tops the charts. With cricket taking the second spot, the other three spots are picked by basketball, tennis, and Formula 1.

“How can cricket be second on the list? That is a lie. I do not know anybody in Europe who watches cricket, let’s be honest," De Bryne exclaimed.
Cricket is relatively new in Europe. Apart from England, there are no heavyweights on the continent. Apart from the Three Lions, Scotland and the Netherlands have featured in the Cricket World Cups. The newest members of the 33 members of the ICC are Hungary and Serbia.
The conversation took a turn when the presenter of the show clarified that, in fact, cricket is the second-most popular sport. KDB refused to budge. He added, "“Who? European people? No."
“Yeah, I watch everything else except cricket," he concluded.
