Pakistan suffered yet another defeat at the hands of India, as the Men in Blue humbled them in a one-sided clash in Dubai.. Despite a few imperfections in the field, India still proved far too strong, handing Pakistan a 6-wicket loss in the Super 4 clash.
Pakistan’s Promising Start Fizzles Out
After winning the toss, Suryakumar Yadav opted to bowl first. The Men in Green started well, going after Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, who were helped by two dropped catches off their bowling.
But Shivam Dube stepped up out of nowhere and took two important wickets that kept Pakistan from getting to 180 runs. Sahibzada Farhan, the opener, steadied the innings with a calm half-century, and with some help from others, Pakistan set a competitive 171/5.

In response, despite some on-field skirmishes from the Pakistan side, Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill took charge with the bat. They dictated the chase in style, with Abhishek the No. 1 T20I batter bringing up his first fifty of the tournament. He finished with a blistering 79 off just 39 balls. Gill’s 48-run knock perfectly complemented him at the other end. Later, Tilak Varma added a composed finishing touch as India chased down the 171-run target inside 19 overs to defeat their arch-rivals once again.

After the game, Pakistan’s legendary pacer Wasim Akram appeared visibly disheartened as he spoke on air about the state of the team:
“I am going to speak my heart out. It is tough to watch Pakistan. I understand, as an ex-player, that winning and losing is part of the game. However, India has consistently outplayed Pakistan in every department over the last four or five years. Once or twice, we have won here and there, but it has been incredible from India — the talent, the depth, everything.”
Wasim also pointed to Pakistan’s inability to capitalize on a strong start:
“One or two catches can be dropped in any game; that is fine. But from 91 in the first 10 overs, when we fail to reach 200, there is nothing to say.” he added
