Former South Africa batter David Cullinan feels Australia may sledge Kagiso Rabada over his recent drug ban during the IPL 2025 window.
Kagiso Rabada faced a one-month ban during IPL 2025 after testing positive for the use of a recreational drug, which he had used during the SA20 2025 tournament in January. Rabada underwent a trial and attended counseling sessions, after which his suspension was reduced to one month. As a result, he missed more than half the season for the Gujarat Titans.

Cullinan: Rabada Will Face Career-Long Taunts Over Drug Ban
Speaking to Hindustan Times, David Cullinan said Kagiso Rabada should be prepared to face sledging during the World Test Championship Final 2025 against Australia.
"Unfortunately, Rabada is going to deal with, for the rest of his career, comments being made relating to off-the-field matters—not only on the field but also by spectators. Only he can deal with it. The best would be just to take wickets. That'll settle that side of things too, but I think it'd be naive to think that comments won't be made and his attention brought to it. It's going to be something he's going to have to live with for the rest of his career, even if he's taking wickets," he told Hindustan Times.
Cullinan added that Rabada likely knew this kind of reaction was inevitable.
"But that's something he has to face. I think he'll be fine with it, but I don't think any cricketer or person would like to be in a working environment and be reminded about your indiscretions. So he's going to have to live with it. As I said, good performances will go a long way to putting that to bed, but as long as he's playing cricket, he'll always be reminded of it," the former South Africa batter added.
Pace Will Be South Africa’s Winning Edge, Says Cullinan
When asked about South Africa’s strength in the WTC Final, Cullinan highlighted the pace attack as their biggest asset. He believes that if the bowlers fire, South Africa will thrive.
"The key players for me would be South Africa's pace attack. I think both teams have good pace attacks. South Africa has a good variation both left and right arm. They have a really consistent spinner in Keshav Maharaj. Ultimately, South Africa's strength is in their pace attack," he concluded.
