Indian batter Tilak Varma has been signed up by the Hampshire County Cricket Club for a two-month stint. He will be playing four four-day games between June 18 to August 2 for the club.
The southpaw is not a part of the Test side that has travelled to England. He last played in the IPL for Mumbai Indians. He has played 4 ODIs and 25 T20Is for India. He has already scored two centuries in those games for the national side.
The southpaw has also been given the NOC by the BCCI and the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) to go and play for Hampshire. The stint will only help him become better as a cricketer.

Tilak Varma Give NOC By HCA, BCCI For County Stint
With India playing Test cricket against England in the near future and ODI cricket later this year in August, it isn't certain whether Tilak Varma will get a call in the ODI series against Bangladesh.
"The Hyderabad Cricket Association is happy to inform that Hyderabad International player Mr. N Thakur Tilak Varma has been approached by the team Hampshire County to play in the UK County Championship League. The Hyderabad Cricket Association wishes him a great stint with Hampshire County," the HCA said in a statement.
Tilak Varma has played just 18 first-class games so far, scoring 1204 runs at an average of over 50 with five centuries and four half-centuries. He has cemented his place in the T20I side but is yet to do so in ODI cricket. He is yet to play a Test match for India as well.

Ready To Be An All-Format Player- Tilak Varma
Having earned a call to join Hampshire, the Indian batter speaking to Telangana Today spoke about the desire of becoming an all-format batter for India.
“I want to make a statement, get recognised that I am ready to be an all-format player. In fact, for some reason or the other I missed out on playing English county cricket before, perhaps, mostly because of our domestic and international schedule clashing with that. So, now this is a huge opportunity and I want to grab it with both hands. I just don’t like to stay away from the game and this county stint presents a great opportunity to be out there in the middle and keep improving,” said Tilak, who played 25 T-20Is scoring two centuries besides four ODIs.
