Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah could be out of the Indian team for some length of time. Bumrah who finished with 32 wickets in the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy might be ruled out of the game for a few months.

Bumrah injured his lower back in the final Test against Australia and hence could not bowl on the third day of the Sydney Test match. His unavailability was one of the major reasons why India could not challenge the Aussie batters who were chasing 162 to win the Test match.

As it turned out, India lost the series 3-1 despite Bumrah's brilliance with the ball and now his immediate future in international cricket is a matter of concern.

Sources close to the Indian team and Jasprit Bumrah have said that the extent of his injury is not yet known. However, he is expected to have a Grade 1, 2, or 3 injury which will require time for him to return fully fit. If he is found to have a Grade 3 injury, he might be out of the game for three months at least.

Jasprit Bumrah To Miss England White-Ball Series

Meanwhile, in all probability, Jasprit Bumrah might miss the upcoming white-ball series against England. The team management is yet to announce the squad. However, it is now almost certain that he will miss the series on account of his injury.

England will tour India for a five-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series. The T20I series will be played from January 22 to January 31. The three-match ODI series then follows from February 6-12.

The management is keen to have Bumrah fit for the ODI series at least as it will be a good dress rehearsal for the upcoming Champions Trophy in England. The Champions Trophy starts from February 19 and the team management is keeping a keen eye on Bumrah's fitness.
