Multan Sultans (MS) and Islamabad United (IU) have dealt with injury blows in the ongoing 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025) season. Gundakesh Motie of the Sultans and Matthew Short of the United have been ruled out of the PSL 2025. Ireland all-rounder Curtis Campher replaces Motie for the Sultans, while United is yet to announce a replacement player for Aussie opening batter Short.
It is to be noted that Short arrived to play PSL nursing an injury from which he could not recover completely. In an official statement from the United, he had shown "encouraging signs of recovery" but was not comfortable during training sessions.
Although United in partnership with Cricket Australia's (CA) medical team, tried to get him back to full fitness, the franchise announced that a joint decision to send the opening batter back to Australia for recovery was made "in the best interest of the player's long-term fitness and career".

Meanwhile, the Sultans gave an official statement on Gudakesh Motie returning to the West Indies midway through the ongoing 10th edition of the PSL 2025 season. The franchise said the Caribbean player went home to honor domestic commitments. According to an ESPNCricinfo report, Motie's father has been ill.
