Anupam Mittal on IPL 2025

Anupam Mittal, the founder of Shaadi.com and one of the judges of Shark Tank, has made a massive comment on bowlers who are part of IPL 2025.

His comment comes after bowlers were pummeled to all parts of the ground in the first few games of the season. In their very first game, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 286 against the Rajasthan Royals. The Royals themselves posted 244 while chasing down the target.

Besides the season opener between RCB and KKR, the CSK vs MI and RR vs KKR matches, every other match has seen scores of over 200 being posted. Bowlers across teams are finding it increasingly difficult to prevent the damage from the batters. However, not many have succeeded so far.

The spinners have performed better in comparison to the pacers who have travelled the distance. Four out of the top five wicket-takers so far have been the spinners. Noor Ahmed took four in his first game against MI. Meanwhile, KKR's Varun Chakravarthy, RCB's Krunal Pandya, and GT's Sai Kishore have taken three wickets each so far.

Talking about the batters, SRH's Ishan Kishan, who scored an unbeaten century against RR, boasts the best strike rate in the initial part of the season. His strike rate currently is 225.53, and he sits at the top of the run-getters list as of now.

Anupam Mittal, seeing how the bowlers have found it this season so far, have taken their side and said that they should be replaced with bowling machines.

"Everything is a wide, no, 4 or 6  #IPL should just replace bowlers with bowling-machines" he wrote on Twitter saying everything favours the batters and not the bowlers.

Previously, GT pacer Kagiso Rabada also spoke about how the league is favoring the batters in an interview with the Indian Express. He further said that the modern bowlers are still finding out ways to tackle the onslaught from the batters.

You can’t sit back and complain about the conditions. You must do something about it as a bowler. However, the game of cricket as a whole would just be boring if you just saw high scores or low scores all the time. The most exciting games are the ones which hang in the balance, requiring batters to apply themselves when wickets fall and play really well to win matches for their teams, or bowlers to step up in the same manner. It shouldn’t be about just survival for either" Rabada said.
