Mohammad Rizwan vs India

Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan's one-day international skipper, has come under hostile remarks for supposedly slandering the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) once again. The cricketing experts pointed out his decision to opt for club cricket over the PCB’s National T20 Cup

Former Pakistani Pacer Sikander Bakht has been highly disappointed with Rizwan's behaviour describing it as selfishness and suggesting that he, being a centrally contracted player, should not care so much about National club cricket. Supposedly earning 60 lakh PKR a month, Bakht has called for drastic measures from PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi even going as far as suggesting a pay cut if the player chooses not to follow PCB' order instead of following the directives of the board.

The uproar portrays numerous and deeper troubles of the Pakistan cricketing fraternity like commitment from players for guiding their career in certain directions to the PCB and basic commitments in the relationship. Rizwan has undoubtly been along the spine of the ever changing image of Pakistani cricket, but this action puts a question mark on his focus and priorities.

Mohammed Rizwan under Scrutiny

This incident follows a string of criticisms about Rizwan’s leadership and batting, particularly after Pakistan’s early exit from the ICC Champions Trophy. During the tournament, Rizwan’s performance was under heavy scrutiny as he managed only 49 runs across two matches scoring 3 runs against New Zealand and 46 runs against India. Many critics pointed to his inability to maintain momentum during key middle overs, questioning his ability to guide Pakistan through tough situations.
